As a singer/songwriter in the Christian church, I had for many years wanted to set some of the Psalms to music myself, as well as provide some tools for other church musicians to do the same. This book provides metrical translations of the Psalms, allowing the reader to pluck an entire Psalm from the psalter and set it to music, or just a few lines at a time, and build a new spiritual song around them. My only requests are that those who do so keep with the main tenor and points of any of the particular Psalms they draw from, and set them to an appropriate musical genre, as explained within the text of this book. Also, please give appropriate credits for the words and music as you do so. May you be blessed in your songwriting endeavors! – Gary L. GabrielsonDr. Gary L.
