Upon overhearing their discussion about this decision, the teenage mutant hero and daughter of Chinese immigrants, Jubilation Lee, questioned why she was becoming a mutant and remembered when she used to be normal, making it clear that manifesting her mutation was not her fault. Hurt, she ran away to an arcade in a mall where a Sentinel robot arrived to capture her. Saved by the X-Men, she was taken unconscious to Xavier's Mansion, where she woke up receiving support from the medical team. Eventually, Jubilee joined the X-Men, making the mutant superhero team her new family, especially Wolverine, with whom she developed a father-daughter relationship.
